Marco S. Bianchi

CV

Me gradué en Física en 2008 en la Università di Milano-Bicocca, en  Milán, Italia. En 2011 defendí mi Doctorado en Física, siempre en la UNIMIB, bajo el patrocinio de Silvia Penati. A continuación trabajé como posdoc en varias institutciones en Europa: Universidad de Oviedo (España), Humboldt University en Berlín, Alemania, Queen Mary University en Londres, Reino Unido y Niels Bohr Institute en Copenague, Dinamarca. Finalmente llegué a Valdivia en octubre de 2019, fecha desde la que me desempeño como profesor en el Instituto de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas de la Universidad Austral de Chile.

Investigación

Mi área de investigación principal es la Física de Altas Energías. Esta explora la leyes que gobiernan fenómenos que ocurren a distancias minúsculas, mucho más chicas de la dimensión de un núcleo atómico. En este régimen, la naturaleza se comporta simultaneamente de manera cuántica y relativistica, y su descripción matemática es en términos de la  Teoría Cuántica de Campos.

En detalle, me dedico a explorar ciertos modelos de interés más abstracto que fenomenológico, que emergen en el contexto de Holografía, especificamente la correspondencia AdS/CFT.  Esta es una popular propuesta que se crió en la comunidad de Teoría de Cuerdas, que establece una dualidad entre ciertas Teorías de Campos y teorías de gravitación en dimesiones espacio-temporales distintas.

Mi especialidad consiste en modelos conformes supersimétricos con duales holográficos y el cálculo de sus observables con métodos perturbativos tradicionales y a través de técnicas exactas, como localización e integrabilidad, que descansan sobre sus simetrías.
